Archived Election Details
The Special Election will allow voters in the Denver Community School District and the Gladbrook-Reinbeck Community School District to vote on Physical Plant and Equipment Levies (PPEL).
Important Dates and Information:
The Special Election will be held on Tuesday, March 4.
The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Denver Community School District voters (residing in Black Hawk County) will vote at:
Black Hawk County Conservation, 1346 W Airline Hwy, Waterloo, IA 50703
Gladbrook-Reinbeck Community School District voters (residing in Black Hawk County) will vote at:
Zion Lutheran Church, 5831 Grundy Rd, Hudson, IA 50643
The first day absentee ballots can be mailed is Wednesday, February 12.
Absentee voting in-person will begin on Wednesday, February 12, in the Election Office at the Courthouse (Room 213).
The deadline to submit an absentee ballot request form is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17. Absentee ballot request forms must be in the office by 5:00 p.m. Postmarks do not count!
The pre-registration deadline for voter registration closes at 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, for the Special Election.
Please note that February 17 is a postal holiday in observance of President's Day. Be sure to account for this when mailing forms so they arrive by the deadline. The Election Office will remain open for business on this date.
Absentee voting in-person will end at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 3.
Voted absentee ballots must be received in the Election Office by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. Voters casting their absentee ballot pursuant to UOCAVA or Safe at Home should review their absentee ballot instructions for additional guidance.
Voter Registration
The pre-registration deadline for voter registration closes at 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, for the Special Election.
After the pre-registration deadline, you must prove who you are (ID) and where you live (residence). The best document to bring is your valid Iowa driver's license with your current address. Election Day Registrations can be completed on Election Day at your polling place or when voting absentee in-person at the courthouse.
On Election Day, the Election Office will be open to answer general questions; however, voters must cast their ballots at their assigned polling places.

Extended hours are available for voter registration and absentee voting in addition to regular hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., extended office hours will be as follows:
Monday, February 17 - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Friday, February 28 - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
