School and City Elections are combined and held in November of odd-numbered years. A City election is used to elect the Mayor and Council Members and any other elected city officials. A School Election is an election to select School Board members within the district.
The City/School Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4.
Polling places will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
Voted absentee ballots must be received in the Election Office by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. Voters casting their absentee ballot pursuant to UOCAVA or Safe at Home should review their absentee ballot instructions for additional guidance.
Voter Registration:
The pre-registration deadline for voter registration closed at 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 20.
Election Day Registration (EDR) rules now apply which require you to prove who you are (ID) and where you live (residence). The best document to bring is your valid Iowa driver’s license with your current address. However, you can find the full list of acceptable documents at the link below.
